Having been born into a jazz family, Okin’s Father was a dancer and a lover of jazz who exposed him early on to Ella, Billie and his Father's friend's music, Red Allen. From there music became a passion, both Jazz and Rhythm and Blues, and beyond. He has been around and worked in music his whole life, in one capacity or another, often as a sound engineer and/or production manager. His jobs have included four years working at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and one at Newport. He has also spent time working at the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC. Some of the Jazz acts he has worked with include Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Wynton Marsalis, Elvin Jones, Dr. John ... He has been a long-time swing and blues dancer and has greatly enjoyed his deep dive in to DJing and sharing his love of music.
