We are proud to offer quality swing dancing instruction from absolute beginner to advanced choreography, including solo jazz class (swing by yourself), and Balboa. Our progressive classes are limited capacity and taught with a focus on technique, not just moves. No partner required, though you may bring your own.

Absolute Beginner Swing. Learn cool moves to classic tunes! This progressive, basic swing dance class will teach the absolute beginner how to Jitterbug or what is now known as East Coast Swing. This partner dance class will teach beginner moves in swing and the technique to execute them properly. The class will learn a routine over a four week period. No partner, experience or TALENT required.
Instructor: Spencer Weisbond or Milo Saidl (with Brooke McDaniel)
Progress in Jitterbug and East Coast Swing by learning more involved patterns with more advanced footwork. Build your dance vocabulary and partnering skills. This class is the prerequisite for Lindy Hop. No partner required. Some previous experience helpful.

You will learn a piece of performance choreography based on current routines they are performing and build upon for four weeks. Partner not required. **Advanced students only. Please speak with instructors**

Partner swing dance is not only comprised of partner patterns, but also vernacular swing jazz solo moves that have been adopted for partner dance. This class will focus ONLY on the solo aspect of swing vernacular jazz movements. This class requires no experience or partner as you’re dancing by yourself. A fantastic class for developing your vernacular jazz building blocks!

Lindy Hop is the grandfather of all swing dances. Popularized through television and film of the 1940s and 50s, the Lindy is a partnered dance comprised of 6 and 8-count patterns patterns, including a signature move called the swing out. Learn the fundamental steps and classic stylings of this original NYC, African American dance form. No partner required. Swing experience required.

The ability to take your basic Lindy Hop patterns and change them to suit your needs or music WHILE YOU ARE DANCING is a skill. This class will teach slight changes to your patterns and give your moves more intricacy, style, flare, and pop. (Prerequisite Intro to Lindy Hop or instructor approval)

Balboa is a partnered swing dance that originated in the 1930s in Southern California, particularly in the beachside resort named Balboa. Back in the day, crowded dance halls often had strict rules which prohibited the Charleston and other exuberant dances, so a dance which required very little space naturally evolved.
